Join us at Bethlehem Centre for a Heartwarming Winter Solstice Celebration
On December 21st, embrace the magic of the longest night of the year with us in the peaceful sanctuary of Bethlehem Centre. Our Solstice Celebration is an invitation to experience the quiet beauty of the season, to reflect on the journey behind us, and to look forward with hope to the brighter days ahead. As we gather in the community, the evening will unfold with soulful jazz music, moments of creative reflection, and a shared walk toward the light. This is a night to nourish not only your body but your spirit, as we honor the solstice with warmth, light, and love.

4:00 PM – Jazz Performance
Let the evening begin with the soulful sounds of jazz. In the warmth of our Chapel, the music will guide us through the essence of the solstice—inviting both reflection and renewal as we embrace the beauty of endings and the promise of new beginnings. Feel the music’s embrace and allow yourself to be carried into the magic of the night.

Leading us through this soulful journey is Gary Paterson, a respected spiritual leader known for his deep insights and reflective approach. Gary will serve as our ‘reflector,’ guiding us through moments of contemplation and connection, creating a space where music becomes a form of meditation. Joining Gary will be some of the region’s finest jazz musicians from the Brad Shipley Jazz Trio

5:30 – 6:30 PM – Chili Dinner
Take a cozy break with a hearty, comforting chili dinner—a perfect way to warm your heart and body. Gather around the table and savor the flavors of this nourishing meal. Whether enjoyed on your own or shared with friends, the chili provides the perfect balance of warmth and comfort as we reflect on the deeper meanings of the solstice.

6:00 PM – Labyrinth Making Begins
Tap into your creativity as we begin the process of crafting our labyrinth. This activity offers a chance to reflect and connect, each step in the labyrinth symbolizing a journey toward light, peace, and understanding. Together, we’ll create a beautiful, meaningful space to explore our inner paths.

6:30 – 8:00 PM – Labyrinth Light-up & Walk
As the evening deepens and the stars begin to shine, join us for the Labyrinth Light-up and Walk. Bring a lantern to light your way or create one at the event. Together, we’ll walk the labyrinth—each step a gentle reminder of the path to renewal, peace, and a brighter tomorrow.
