With Lama Mark Webber (Lama Yongdu Chokyi Gyaltsen)
January 25 - 28, 2026
Welcome!
Thank you for choosing to attend the virtual livestream retreat with Lama Mark Webber (Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen).
This retreat is hosted by Island Dharma, a Buddhist Sangha dedicated to helping to unfold the teachings of compassion and wisdom. We are located on Vancouver Island, and our resident teacher is Cheryl Fraser. We look forward to supporting your Dharma practice by streaming these classes online for those of you who are unable to attend this retreat in person.
You may register on this page. Please note there is a $100 course fee. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please contact islanddharmaretreats@gmail.com if you would benefit from support for your retreat fees.
Please read all this information. By reading the information and guidelines set out here and then attending the online classes, you indicate your understanding and acceptance of the terms and conditions.
Right Intention
All online participants are expected to attend the online program with the same personal involvement and with the same respect towards the teacher and the teaching as they would if attending the teaching in person. For example, during online teaching, you are expected to focus exclusively on the teachings. Set yourself up in a quiet, undisturbed area. Do not eat during the teachings.
It is the request of Lama Mark that you attend all of the classes live if at all possible, even if the classes are at an unusual time in your own time zone. If you are unable to attend live, we will make a limited-time recording available. Please attend the recording with the same Right Intention as you would the live sessions.
Dana for the Teacher
A reminder, the $100 course fee you will pay to register will go to Island Dharma. This course fee will be used toward the costs of hosting this retreat – mainly travel, accommodation, & meals for Lama Mark and attendants.
Lama Mark offering the Dharma here on Vancouver Island is a rare and auspicious opportunity to receive teachings and explorations about the Path of Awakening. As is traditional, the teachings of Buddha Dharma are offered freely – Lama Mark receives no fee. However, there is an opportunity for students to show their gratitude for the teachings and to help support the teacher. Dana (generosity & donations for the teacher) will be gratefully accepted. As a guideline, a minimum of $25 per class is suggested.
- Please offer your Dana to Lama Mark https://www.markwebber.org/dana-for-lama-mark/ OR
- By sending an e-transfer to lamawebber@yahoo.ca (for people with a Canadian Bank Account) OR
- Via PayPal to the address mwebber108@yahoo.ca
How to Register to receive your link to access the Online Classes
These teachings are being hosted on the online platform Demio. They are not on Zoom. You will not be on camera – only Lama Mark will be on camera. Each participant will receive a unique join link. You must use your own link. Do not share it with anyone, as it will only work for one sign-in (one person accessing the teachings).
Once you have completed your registration and paid the course fee, you will receive an email with your link to register for the online class series.
Note – Should you be attending the online classes with a partner or friend, please ask them to register for the retreat as well, though you can join the classes and watch together using only the link for one participant if you wish.
