Write Where You Are
With Junie Swadron
June 27 - 29, 2025
This is an ideal course for everyone – be they a novice or professional writer. This is not a critique group. It is a safe space to practice spontaneous writing from writing prompts drawn from Junie’s ever-growing, overflowing creative writing toolbox. Sharing what you write is optional but encouraged!
This weekend program will offer foolproof and often hilarious solutions to get even the biggest sceptics or blocked writer’s writing again. It’s an experience that takes away all the fears you have locked in the closet. It invites you to write from what’s in front of you right now—in reality and in your imagination. Toss out perfection and replace it with colours, shapes, anger, joy, humour, heartbreak, and whatever else that wants to come out of hiding.
This approach to writing will stop the judging and allow you to rest your heart on the page. This brings about spaciousness, creative freedom, and confidence. We never know what the pen or keyboard wants to reveal to us. You may surprise yourself with poetry, prose, stand-up comedy, song lyrics, mystery…That is the joy of free-fall writing.
