Marcia Burton, RCC and Hakomi Trainer

Marcia Burton is a Senior Hakomi Trainer. She has been studying and practicing Hakomi since 1997, and is grateful to Ron Kurtz, its creator, for his support and kindness, and for believing in her. During the last several years of Ron’s life, Marcia worked closely with Ron as his student, and later as an assistant and trainer in his trainings.

Marcia has a MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and has a private practice on Salt Spring Island. She lives and plays on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Penelekut. Marcia has a commitment to learning about social justice and acknowledges that she has benefited from her position of privilege. Marcia teaches for the Right Use of Power Institute (Bringing Heart to Ethics), and the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.

Marcia loves writing haiku, walking on the beach with her dog, gardening and laughing with friends and family.
