
Mary Ann Moore
Mary Ann Moore (she/her) is a poet, writer and writing mentor who lives on the traditional lands of the Snuneymuxw First Nation in Nanaimo. She has been leading writing circles since 1997. It has been said that circles with Mary Ann are places where unsuspecting poets are born. Her poetry, essays, and book reviews have appeared in numerous publications.
Mary Ann’s full-length book of poetry is Fishing for Mermaids (Leaf Press) and her latest chapbooks of poetry are Mending (house of appleton) and Modern Words for Beauty (house of appleton). One of Mary Ann’s chapbooks, “The Risks We Take for Love,” was shortlisted in the Raven Chapbooks contest 2025. www.maryannmoore.ca
