The Attitude of Gratitude: A One-Day Meditation Retreat for Seniors
With Ralph Frank
January 28, 2026
In the quiet rhythm of breath and stillness, we rediscover what is already here: the simple gift of being alive, wrinkles, creaking joints, and all.
Drawing from the Buddha’s Mindfulness of Breathing meditation, this retreat invites participants to explore what Ralph calls the A.R.T. of Inner Peace — Arrival in the present moment, Relaxing in awareness of body, movement, and breath, and Thankfulness for this moment just as it is.
The focus for the day will be on the third quality — Thankfulness, or Gratitude — a gateway to a peaceful, calm heart that helps us meet life with wisdom and kindness rather than habitual reactivity, transforming everyday moments into sources of inspiration and joy.
Through guided meditation, reflection, and gentle mindful movement designed for seniors, participants will strengthen their ability to be present and to appreciate the beauty of life more fully, even amid the changes that come with aging.
This is a day to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with a community of curious, engaged seniors. Whether you are new to meditation or wish to deepen or renew your practice, this retreat offers a welcoming space to pause and open up to the quiet joy of gratitude. Ralph shares these ancient teachings in a warm, down-to-earth way, offering simple practices to weave mindfulness and gratitude into everyday life.
